Safavid and Afsharid Conquests
The majority of the items now in the collection were acquired by the Safavid dynasty, which ruled Iran from 1502 to 1736 AD. Afghans invaded Iran in 1719 and sacked the then capital of Isfahan and took the Iranian crown jewels as plunder. By 1729, however, after an internal struggle of nearly a decade, Nader Shah Afshar successfully drove the Afghans from Iran. In 1738, the Shah launched his own campaign against the Afghan homeland. After taking and raiding the cities of Kandahar and Kabul as well as several principalities in northern India, and sacking Delhi, the victorious Nader Shah returned to Iran with what remained of the plundered crown jewels as well as several other precious objects now found in the Iranian Treasury. These included several heavily jewel-encrusted thrones and numerous diamonds, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, and other precious gemstones. Four of the most prominent acquisitions from this conquest were the Koh-i-Noor and Darya-ye Noor diamonds (both originating from India and still amongst the largest in the world), the Peacock Throne, and the Samarian Spinel.
Modern Usage
The crown jewels were last used by the Pahlavi dynasty, the last to rule Iran. The splendor of the collection came to the attention of the western world largely through their use by Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi and his Shahbanu (Empress) Farah Pahlavi during official ceremonies and state visits.
The Iranian crown jewels are considered so valuable that they are still used as a reserve to back Iranian currency (and have been used this way by several successive governments). In 1937, during the reign of Reza Shah Pahlavi, ownership of the Imperial treasury was transferred to the state. The jewels were placed in the vaults of the National Bank of Iran, where they were used as collateral to strengthen the financial power of the institution and to backi for the national monetary system.[1] This important economic role is perhaps one reason why these things, undeniable symbols of Iran's monarchic past, have been retained by the current Islamic Republic.
Public Display
Because of their great value and economic significance, the Iranian crown jewels were for centuries kept far from public view in the vaults of the Imperial treasury. However, as the first Pahlavi Shah had transferred ownership of the crown jewels to the state, his son, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, decreed that the most spectacular of the jewels should be put on public display at the Central Bank of Iran.
When the Iranian revolution toppled the Pahlavi dynasty in 1979, it was feared that in the chaos the Iranian crown jewels had been stolen or sold by the revolutionaries. Although in fact some smaller items were stolen and smuggled across Iran's borders, the bulk of the collection remained intact. This became evident when the revolutionary government under the presidency of Hashemi Rafsanjani re-opened the permanent exhibition of the Iranian crown jewels to the public in the 1990s. They remain on public display today.

The Imperial crown jewels of Iran (also known as the Imperial crown jewels of Persia) include several elaborate crowns and decorative thrones, thirty tiaras, and numerous aigrettes, a dozen bejewelled swords and shields, a vast number of unset precious gems, numerous plates and other dining services cast in precious metals and encrusted with gems, and several other more unusual items (such as a gemstone globe) collected by the Iranian monarchy during its 2,500-year existence.

Persian Jewels
Iran (Persia) possesses an extraordinary treasure of royal jewelry, including a copious amount of mother-of-pearl from the Persian Gulf. The Iranian crown jewels are among the largest, most dazzling and valuable jewel collection in the world. The jewels are displayed in the vaults of the Central Bank of Iran in Tehran, and are one of the most appealing tourist attractions in Iran. Akik is also exported from Iran to various countries including the Indian subcontinent.

Jewels
All jewels grant the owner the powers of flight, levitation and energy manipulation. The jewels, or the Brilyante, are gemstones which are pivotal to the existence and balance of the world of Encantadia. In each gem resides massive power, and if one falls in the wrong hands, chaos is bound to ensue.
Fire Jewel
The jewel grants its owner with the power to control fire. If the beholder already has this power, its owner's strength is heightened and diversified, enabling the person to control warmth, light and fire. In this sense, the beholder can intensify sunlight and conjure fire. This fire is sometimes used to create a portal window to see what other people are doing at the time. Fire can also be used as a container of power so that it may be transferred to others.
The jewel of fire is connected with the sun, and if it is lost, the sun would refuse to shine, depriving Encantadia of the powers of fire.
The jewel grants its owner with the power to control the wind. If the beholder has this power, its owner's strength is heightened and diversified, enabling the person to control air, wind and coldness. In this sense, the beholder can change air currents, conjure oxygen in areas without it and transform into air, This wind is sometimes used to send messages to other people. The air jewel can also be used to detect the existence of beings by tracing the sound of their breaths. Amihan used this power twice: first, to find Alena after the latter gave birth to Khalil; and second, to confirm the safety of Cassandra who ventured out with Wahid, Apek, and Wantuk, to Devas.
The jewel is interconnected with the very air of Encantadia. Even if it was not shown in the series, it is possible that if it is lost, the air in Encantadia will slowly cease to exist, which is bound to result in death.
Owner History
Cassiopea > Lireo/Mine-a > Amihan
Original and destined owner of the Air Jewel = Amihan
Water Jewel
The jewel grants its owner with the power to control water. If the beholder has this power, its owner's strength is heightened and diversified, enabling the person to control biosonar, liquids, sea creatures and rain. In this sense, the beholder sings with a magical voice, conjure and alter water and other liquids, shapeshift into flora and fauna which have water habitats and intensify the rain into a storm. Boiling water conveys to Alena that trouble is afoot.
Original and destined owner of the water jewel = Alena
Earth Jewel
The jewel grants its owner with earth-based powers. If the beholder has this power, its owner's strength is heightened and diversified, enabling the person to control the earth, vegetation and nature. In this sense, the beholder can conjure earthquakes, communicate with plants and animals, shapeshift into any flora or fauna and heal herself.
Owner History
Meno > Sapiro/Armeo > Raquim > Mine-a > Danaya > (fell into the sea) > Danaya > Avria > Ether> Danaya
Original and destined owner of the Earth Jewel = Danaya
Jewel spirit-guides
Alipato
He dwells in the Jewel of Fire and the spirit-guide of fire and has the power to bring back life from the dead as long as the keeper of the Jewel of Fire tells him so. He is played by Filipino actor, Antonio Aquitania.
Agua
She is the spirit-guide of water and was the one who turned Alena into a water lily that heals those whom she loves and poisons those who are her enemies. She is played by Filipino actress and SexBomb dancer, Sunshine Garcia.
Avilan
He is the ancestor of the Mulawins, founder of Avila and the spirit-guide of air. He is the only guide not needed to be summoned. It would also appear that he is more of spirit-guide of the Air than the jewel as he can appear whenever he wants to. He has appeared to Amihan already when she was still a child even though she's not yet the keeper of the Jewel of the Air. He also has the ability to become a Mulawin bird. He usually left dark warnings to Amihan by letting one of his feathers fall in front of Amihan. When Danaya was wrongfully banished from Lireo, Avilan watched over her and accompanied her to the mortal realm where he served as her guardian. He is played by Filipino actor, Romnick Sarmienta.
Sari-a
She is the spirit-guide of earth. Unlike the others, she did not adhere to Danaya. Ether was able to summon her when she had possession of the earth gem and make her an ally against the Sang'gres. Not until Ether was defeated that she called Danaya her lord. She also use Two Arnis Sticks as weapons like Danaya. Even if Danaya does not possess the gem, when Sari-a gets hurt, Danaya gets hurt also. She is played by Filipino actress, Geneva Cruz.
Twin-guides
Aera
Aera served as Amihan's kambal-diwa (twin spirit-guide) when she wished that her body be duplicated to watch over Lira, when she ran away again, and this time, to fulfill her dreams of a peaceful Encantadia while she is at war. Aera shares Amihan's powers of the air. Although Aera is not Amihan, once Aera is hurt so will Amihan. It was mentioned that if Aera dies, Amihan will lose all her powers. Aera sometimes gives more trouble to the Queen of Lireo. However, she proved useful in many situations. She is played by Filipino actress, Margaret Wilson.
Aure
Little is known about Aure's character but it is clear that she was the Spirit-guide sent by Ynang Reyna to Lira when she was captured by Pirena. She first appeared to the young Sang'gre in the form of a dove. Her presence was a test for Lira to prove her kindness and purity in heart. It was during the conversations with Aure that Lira got the idea of exposing the truth about the nature of Pirena's deceit by sticking a flower behind Pirena's back. When Pirena appeared as Amihan, Lira found out the amazing ability of Pirena to take another person's form. Aure was the spirit-guide who helped Lira discover her real mission in Encantadia. She is played by Filipino actress, Cheska Garcia

Jewel Cave National Monument
History
Frank and Albert Michaud, two local homesteaders, discovered the cave in 1900, when they felt cold air blowing out of a small hole in a canyon. It is unknown whether any previous inhabitants of the area were aware of the natural cave opening, which was not large enough for a person to enter.[1]
Calcite crystals in Jewel Cave
After enlarging the cave entrance with dynamite, the Michauds found a cavern lined with calcite crystals, which led them to name it "Jewel Cave." The brothers tried to capitalize on the discovery, widening the opening, building walkways inside, and opening it to tourists. Although their venture was unsuccessful, news of the discovery eventually reached Washington. President Theodore Roosevelt proclaimed Jewel Cave a National Monument on February 7, 1908. The area around the natural entrance to the cave was further developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. The National Park Service assumed management of the monument in 1933 and began offering tours in 1939.[1]
As recently as 1959, less than two miles (3 km) of passageway had been discovered. That year, however, Herb and Jan Conn, local rock climbers, began exploring, and within two years had mapped 15 miles (24 km). Much of the new discoveries lay outside the boundaries of the monument, under land managed by the United States Forest Service. The two agencies performed a land swap in 1965, establishing the present boundaries of the park, and enabling the development of a new part of the cave. The Park Service sunk a 300-foot (100 m) elevator shaft to a previously remote cave area, and built concrete walks and metal stairs and platforms along a one-half-mile loop. The "Scenic Tour" was opened in 1972. Most modern-day visitors tour that part its the cave.
In August 2000, an 83,000 acre (340 km²) forest fire burned 90% of the monument and the surrounding area. The visitor center and historic buildings were saved.
Exploration
Herb and Jan Conn
By 1979, Herb and Jan Conn had discovered, named, and mapped more than 64 miles (100 km) of passages. Although they largely retired from caving by the early 1980s, exploration has continued unabated. Because the areas being explored take many hours to reach, explorers now sometimes camp in the cave during expeditions of as long as four days. The cave is mapped by traditional survey techniques, using compass, clinometer and today with lasers instead of tape measures.[1]
Its 145 miles (233 km) of mapped passageway make Jewel Cave the second longest cave in the world, after Mammoth Cave, in Kentucky, at 367 miles (591 km) [2].
The discovered areas in the cave account for only about 2% of the estimated total air volume of the cave. The cave volume is estimated by measuring the amount of air that the cave "exhales" when the outside air pressure drops and "inhales" when the outside air pressure rises.[1]
Hydrogeology
Hydromagnesite balloon
Jewel Cave was formed by the gradual dissolution of limestone by stagnant, acid-rich water. The water enlarged a network of cracks that had formed during the uplift of the Black Hills approximately 60 million years ago. The layer of calcite crystals that covers much of the cave walls was created by the re-deposition of calcite from water saturated with the mineral.
After the water that formed the cave drained, speleothems (cave formations) began to form. Jewel Cave contains all the common types of calcite formations, such as stalactites, stalagmites, flowstone, and frostwork, although not in the same abundance as other well-known caves. The dry parts of the cave contain some formations created by the deposition of gypsum, such as gypsum needles, beards, flowers, and spiders. Finally, Jewel Cave contains a very rare formation called a hydromagnesite balloon. Those are created when gas of an unknown source inflates a pasty substance formed by the precipitation of magnesium.
Visitation
Jewel Cave is open year round. The Park Service offers three tours: the scenic tour, a half-mile loop through a paved and lighted central portion of the cave accessible by elevator; the historic tour, a candlelight tour through the earliest-discovered part of the cave; and a spelunking tour, through an undeveloped part of the cave near the scenic loop. There are some surface trails. While reservations are not required, they are recommended during the summer seasons.[1]

Ironstone's Crown Jewel
History
One form of gold found in California is gold in quartz which is often hard-rock mined in vertical or horizontal shafts. This contrasts with placer (loose gold, often nuggets) and fine gold that has been recovered by hydraulic mining.
The gold specimen was unearthed at the Sonora Mining Co. mine in Jamestown, California on December 24, 1992. Along with other gold-heavy quartz pieces, the gold was first believed to be bits of damaged machinery.
A number of days later, the materials were examined and found to be full of gold. The “Crown Jewel” was the largest of the pieces, weighing in at 60 lbs.
Word of the find first hit the press on December 31, 1992. [4]
The find caused the Gold Trust and Reinsurance company of the West Indies to make a $20 million offer for the Sonora Mining Corp. of Toronto, Canada. [5]
The National Enquirer even picked up the story. [6]
Many of the smaller specimens of crystalline gold were sold at a Tucson, Arizona gem show. [7]
In April 1993, the Sonora Mining Corp. offered the gold specimen as a bond to Tuolumne County, California. The County ultimately declined the offer. [8]
Among those seeking to buy the specimen was the French government. [9]
Display
After acquiring the gold-bearing rock, John Kautz, proprietor of Ironstone Vineyards, had the sample etched with acid and most of the rock removed by tweezers. This process took over a year. What resulted is the specimen that has little original rock in the upper part, and more original rock in the bottom part.
To display “Ironstone’s Crown Jewel,” Mr. Kautz had a three-story building constructed at Ironstone Vineyards. The upper story includes a vault to hold the gold specimen along with the Jewelry Shoppe that sells items that include unusual “gold in quartz” jewelry.
California Governor George Deukmejian opened the exhibit at Ironstone Vineyards.
The specimen is available to be seen during normal Jewelry Shoppe hours at no charge.

The Way to Happiness is a book by L. Ron Hubbard which delivers a set of basic morals for our modern world. You can greatly enhance others you associate with by having them apply these precepts.
Precept # 3 – “Don’t Be Promiscuous”
SLAP! SLAP! SLAP! Ooouuuuch!
If sex is a means of procreation, i.e., creating a larger family and having kids, why then would one abuse such activity which often ends up in nasty fights?
One should be faithful to your sexual partner.
L. Ron Hubbard wrote: “Sex is a big step on the way to happiness and joy. There is nothing wrong with it if it is followed with faithfulness and decency.”
The Way to Happiness Foundation promotes L. Ron Hubbard’s book (The Way to Happiness) in over 90 languages. You can also get your own booklet copy with your own custom cover. Check out http://www.thewaytohappiness.org/ or http://www.twth.org.

Now is a phase and it's changing It's rotating us all Thought we were safe but we're dangling Now it's too far to survive the fall And this I know It will not bend Invisible indivisible
